What should I wear to my boudoir session? This is one of the biggest questions that a client has. It's also one of the scariest parts for a client believe it or not. chances are, if you are interested in a boudoir session, you have either looked up boudoir photographer or photos, seen photos in some way or another. So, what do you see and why is it so scary? well, first because I am asking you to get into clothing that is revealing, half naked, and of course vulnerable. You can't hide the parts of your body that you don't love as easily. So chances are you either don't own lingerie or if you do it not very much or you don't wear it long enough to look at yourself in the mirror. So let's get back to the question. What DO I wear then? Every boudoir photographer is different, but since you are here, I'm going to tell you what I believe and like to practice and tell my clients. I believe you should wear something that makes you feel sexy, hot, comfortable and even a little daring. I want you to wear something that makes you excited but also fits your personality. let me explain. If wearing a t-shirt with undies is your thing then wear that. If you are someone who loves wear a sports bra and jeans then wear it. Not my client, but I have even seen someone wear just overalls in their session and no bra or shirt. Sexy as hell and definitely unique. Body jewelry, or heck even heels and your birthday suit. But if you want to wear lingerie to your session but want to hide that tummy or not wear something super revealing there are one piece body suits you can wear that still look sexy. What you don't need is to go to the fanciest or even the most expensive place. One thing I do tell my clients is to avoid baby dolls. Why? there's cute right? yeah they are. But they are loose and flowy and work against your curves instead of with them. HOWEVER, if baby dolls are what make you excited or happy or sexy then wear it. I will never turn you away or say no if it is an absolute must. But I Don’t Know What Would Look Good On Me…” You are not expected to figure this out alone. I am there for you, I ask questions, photos and make sure you are happy and excited with what you bring. I am not going to just leave you alone to fend for yourself with this. I have a welcome packet with photos to give you idea's, I give you a Pinterest board link that I created it's not just for my clients, I even have it on my linktree for everyone to see. I have a client closet with 65 pieces that range in size xs-4xl in different colors. If you aren't sure, I offer my booked clients 1 hour with me to come to my home studio, look at my client closet and see if there is anything they find they like and then I put aside those outfits just for them. We go over photos, talk about style, what looks good, sizing and it gives you a chance to meet me, and see my studio. Your boudoir session is not about wearing something “sexy enough.” It’s about seeing yourself differently. Sometimes that’s lace. Sometimes that’s a sweater. Sometimes that’s just you — wrapped in confidence. If you’re considering booking and still feel unsure about what to wear — that’s completely normal. That’s what I’m here for.
